I have a question regarding Polly's surname of Wright. I had heard that Wright came from Polly's original character notes. If this is so shouldn't Polly be listed in the Companion Lists under the W's? As far as I know, Melanie's surname of Bush was never heard in the series but came from Mel's original character notes and yet she's still listed in the Companion List under B.
If Mel's surname of Bush can be accepted if it's only from the character notes then so can Polly's surname of Wright. -- Alan-WK20:56, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The difference is that Polly's last name was never made public at the time, while Mel's last name was used in contemporary publicity and promotional literature. So it was never used in the same way that Mel's was. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 22:24, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
According to Anneke Wills herself - in her new autobiography - Polly never had a surname - Anneke is of the opinion that this has simply been invented by fans over the years, as has Polly's 'other' surname. that policy says absolutely nothing about removing all the necessary categories from the article, and ignoring the article content as you did. Dimadick (talk) 12:37, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Quote from the page: "Another example is when a single article covers things known by multiple names, such as a person who is known in multiple fields of endeavour under different names, a merged article about three different newspapers, or a sketch comedy television show whose name exists on Wikipedia as a redirect to the comedy troupe that created it. In such a case, consideration needs to be given to which title should be reflected in an individual category. ". This is a merge of two different people, and the categories should be on this page, but on the two redirects. Christian75 (talk) 18:58, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
