Separating Bengalis in Pakistan with Bangladeshis in Pakistan

[edit]

Bengali is an ethnic group that arrived in Pakistan well before Bangladesh was created. Most of early Bengalis in Pakistan are assimilated into Pakistani culture and maintain a stark differences with there Bangladeshi counterparts who arrived after 1971. So it's best to separate the two, just like Pashton and Afghans in Pakistan are separate.

Bengalis can be included in Bangladeshis, but as it stands today Bangladeshi is the nationality and Benglis are the majority ethnic group of Bangladesh, so we can keep the title on Bangladeshis (citizens of Bangladesh) while the majority ethnic Bengali group can be included in the article.--NadirAli نادر علی (talk) 04:49, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Majority? Still not the whole. You can create whatever article you want but this article will remain under this same name. Rzvas (talk) 09:49, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@NadirAli: I agree with Rzvas point here. 'Bangladeshi' is a nationality, whereas a large number of these Bengali migrants arrived before 1971 and therefore never became Bangladeshi. It may be a good idea to have a separate article for Bangladeshis in Pakistan, depending on what the sources say regarding post-1971 migrants. Mar4d (talk) 15:25, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
To editor Mar4d:, I'm okay with a separate article with a lead into explaining the difference.--NadirAli نادر علی (talk) 02:50, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
