Unsupported educational rankings
[edit]The following text was removed from the main article:
- In 2005, William Annin Middle School was rated a 3-star school by the Newark Star-Ledger newspaper, making it the highest-ranked middle school in Somerset County. Newsweek Magazine ranked Ridge High School as the 91st best high school in the nation based in part on the number of Advanced Placement courses offered to students.
We need to find sources -- title publication, title of article and exact date of publication -- before it goes back in. The numbers keep changing, but without documentation it's worthless. Alansohn 22:27, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
Governor, US Senator
[edit]Listing at the local level, the governor and us senators is pretentious, distracting and silly. It is not the fault of editors of this article but "outside" editors with, apparently, some WP:POV. With concerted effort, this can be prevented in this article since it is an unnecessary distraction. Student7 (talk) 02:28, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

I think "portions" being removed in 1806 ff is too vague. Somebody should figure out how much of the original twp ended up in modern jurisdictions. It looks like the 1806 "old Warren"-- Warren plus Watchung, Green Brook, and N. Plainfield, is about as large as modern Bernards. It would probably be something like 30% to Warren, 30% to Bernardsville, etc etc, and maybe 25% remaining in Bernards. Maybe something similar by population. "Portions" is way too wishy-washy IMHO (in my humble opinion). WmMBoyce (talk) 11:57, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Local Government: Re. List of Mayors
[edit]@Brooksbetz: I am posting regarding the changes that I made to the Local Government Section, you had created a table in the section for the current members of the Twp. Committee, this is not the format that is used for this section so I changed it to the usual format. Additionally, you had added a very long table of past Mayors and members of the Committee. While this is commendable work, it falls under the catagory of WP:TOOMUCH and therefore I have removed it. If any past elected officials were then elected to notable higher offices, they could be added to a list of Notable People from Bernards Township at the bottom of the township's wikipedia page. I hope that this explains what I did and why I did it, thanks! JerseyThroughandThrough (talk) 05:22, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
