Media coverage

[edit]

needs a new section. 2405:201:D01B:60BC:1D25:AC0B:793A:1945 (talk) 14:14, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I mean, all the content we put in here is come from media only, isnt it? Ok123l (talk) 14:46, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but, A new section is needed to explain how media houses react to Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra. Create subsection under Reactions from other parties. 2405:201:D01B:600B:DBE:EFA8:AD51:8426 (talk) 14:59, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ok123:, consider renaming the Misinformation section as media coverage. 2405:201:D01B:6063:4968:F677:8445:2084 (talk) 12:54, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
its only misinformation in that section, not any factual media coverage Ok123l (talk) 08:46, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Progress

[edit]

need a Subarticle to list state and date-wise progress. like:

Tamil Nadu

[edit]
  • 2 September 2022 Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin launched Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra from Gandhi Mandapam in Kanyakumari. The yatra is expected to cover a distance of 3570 km, across 12 states and two Union territories. [1]

its not needed, atleast not now, maybe we'll do something like that at the end of the yatra, plus the page doesn't exist, so is currently not needed Ok123l (talk) 14:45, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No need to create a timeline article. Create a section here if needed. --Venkat TL (talk) 15:30, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Since this is an ongoing event, provide daily updates for now in the progress section. 2405:201:D01B:600B:DBE:EFA8:AD51:8426 (talk) 14:40, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's better to create a separate page if you're gonna do daily updates @2405:201:D01B:600B:DBE:EFA8:AD51:8426 Ok123l (talk) 18:58, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Editor5454: Your presence is needed here 2405:201:D01B:6075:3DC4:A2F0:C066:AD4D (talk) 14:06, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The event is neither of international significance that it requires a day-to-day update nor is Wikipedia a current-affairs or propaganda website. A user also seems to be adding even the schedule of the following two days; doesn't qualify under WP:NOT. Further, the timeline is being presented in the present and not past tense, that's problematic too. Separate sections for months or the states the march had passed could be made — better for comprehension and would suit the encyclopedic format. Also, the content should be in past tense. Thanks! See also

[edit]

@Curvasingh, why are you putting Ram Rath Yatra and the Long March in "See also"? Ram Rath Yatra was totally opposite ideologically from Bharat Jodo, and the long March was just a military retreat, so these both don't deserve to be in here. Also please properly format your sources. Thank you. Ok123l (talk) 07:19, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ok123l, the source you provided is about a clash in UK, not related to this protest. Kpddg (talk) 10:41, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Progress section

[edit]

@JTF2020 I see you've been adding new themes for the yatra in the Progress section. While I do think it is okay, is it really worth adding themes which just last for 1 day? I mean this section might be too long for an average reader by the end of this event. Open to opinions from other editors. Ok123l (talk) 10:12, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, am adding those in the Progress section (not in any other that might imply they are broader Yatra themes) because IMHO, progress of this event is marked by both the distance covered, daily and over time, and the issues the participants consciously choose to highlight, even if for just a day. The ones I did add are not daily ones but a few that seem worth a line or two. JTF2020 (talk) 10:40, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see, please just make sure it isn't so large as that it would not be user-friendly and make the article hard to read. Thanks. Ok123l (talk) 16:01, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, @Ok123l, didn't track this thread. The length of that section is more to do with a sort of daily "journal" that's been included - most of it appears non-notable and unnecessary. That sub-section might benefit from significant trimming. JTF2020 (talk) 05:27, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, @JTF2020, I have tried to trim it but IPs keep reverting it. I have requested this page for protection to prevent this. Ok123l (talk) 08:30, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Trim article

[edit]

The article is too long, has a lot of unnecessary subheadings, need to trim it, especially timeline section. I think we should trim timeline into showing weekly updates instead of daily. Ok123l (talk) 08:45, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Up until the very end, don't worry about length; after that, cut it or make separate articles. 2405:201:D01B:60FB:3461:8CC2:31AF:3417 (talk) 13:39, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Planning group is not encyclopedic and should be in the event's official website. Please refer to WP:VNOT and WP:NOTDIRECTORY. As for casualties, they are regularly not in event pages like this. Maybe add them into infobox which has section for it. Ok123l (talk) 09:37, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Planning group

[edit]

The IP 2405:201:d01b:6146:8d1a:485e:f96a:f6bc wants to add the "Central planning group" in the article which breaches Wikipedia:ONUS and Wikipedia:NOTDIRECTORY, this should be in the official event of the website, not wikipedia. He also wont let me trim anything and keeps reverting them back. Pinging for opinion @Venkat TL @Dhruv edits @JTF2020 @Kpddg Ok123l (talk) 04:45, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for comment

[edit]

Currently, there are three open RfCs here, and it looks like two of them weren't even simply discussed prior to opening those RfCs. I would suggest withdrawing the two which were not discussed and instead just holding that discussion. If it really does come to an impasse after discussion, that's the time to hold an RfC, and it would also be better to condense them into one RfC, not three. Seraphimblade Talk to me 14:52, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Seraphimblade: The RfCs were created by an IP that has been blocked for sockpuppetry. I will remove the bad RfCs. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 19:30, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Moreover, they were malformed: none had a WP:RFCCAT, so each produced a big red error message; and the three {{rfc}} tags were all added in the same edit, in contravention of WP:RFC#Multiple simultaneous RfCs on one page, and therefore Legobot (talk · contribs) had zero chance to process each one before the next was added, with the result that they all got the same |rfcid= and so only one of them got added to the RfC listings. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 08:57, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality issue

[edit]

The article reads like a promotional piece on the personal website of the Congress party. The article sounds like written and expended majorly by the PR team of Congress party and should be tagged with Template:POV and should be rewritten by a third party from a neutral point of view. 113.193.45.245 (talk) 16:22, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The "Fake News" section is one-sided. It is missing fake news spread by the leaders of the Congress party itself such as this and many more so where is the neutrality? 113.193.45.245 (talk) 16:32, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Cannolis (talk) 17:05, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Cannolis: As mentioned in my request above, please tag the article with "Template:POV" as per WP:NPOV because neutrality is not maintained and it sounds edited by users with a conflict of interest. 113.193.45.245 (talk) 03:44, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

BJ Yatra

[edit]

Plz add this

The foot march of the Congress MP was labelled as Congress’ attempt to reconnect with the masses. Though he was seen walking during this Yatra, this tour of the Gandhi scion was no less than a luxury on wheels. The ‘foot march’ was also accompanied by a convoy of 59 containers, which were colour coded as per the availability of beds. The Congress leaders slept in these containers, which were mounted on trucks. They camped on the roadsides, ate food made by the cooking staff, and got clean laundry once every 3 days. BlackOrchidd (talk) 11:50, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline section

[edit]

The Timeline article was sent to AFD with a consensus to merge into this article. I currently do not see any details in that article that need to be copied over, so just redirecting. Anyone else can feel free to add details if they find any.

Right now I think even the current timeline section is too long and does not follow WP:NOTNEWS and we should significantly trim or reduce it. I will probably attack it soon. Soni (talk) 12:14, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have finished cutting the majority of WP:PUFF from the timeline. The article still needs a bunch of work, but it's a lot more readable I think Soni (talk) 08:37, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
