Secondary Objectives
[edit]It's been nearly 3 years since I have contributed to BLACK. I am the original author of the Secondary Objectives in this Wiki page. My SOs have been edited by registered and non-registered users alike, and many of my installments have been edited with here-say and conjecture, and very little fact. I have found that 3R1C edited most of my installments horribly (SETEC Astronomy is not a Russian KGB front!). Somehow, my SO additions have been removed altogether.
I have found that there was a deletion discussion on this page, and the reasons were for the posting of infomation that had little or no fact. This was not the original intention of the BLACK Secondary Objectives. The original intent was to give factual and/or published info on intel collected while playing BLACK. BLACK SOs give us a history and contemporary lesson in Black-Ops. It is my intention to reopen the deletion discussion, and if allowed to repost the SOs, take the title offered by Hench and create a separate page, and link it to the BLACK page.

split secondary objectives
[edit]this article just got tagged as too large in size. what would be the proper title for an article only for the secondary objectives and their details? 3R1C 13:16, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Secondary Objectives in Black (video game) or the like, I would think. Hench 18:31, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Rating
[edit]Changed to B-Class. This isn't even close to a start article anymore 3R1C 01:29, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Secondary Objectives
[edit]Sorry for not "Discussing" this sooner. I really appreciate those who contributed to my Secondary Objectives, especially that 'Bank of Hanoi' addition. I used to watch the A-Team when it was out, but I never knew what the crime they didn't commit was.
Anyway, I removed the paragraph about what form the Intel and Blackmail appears, so hopefully my references wont be moved or deleted.
This section needs some hardcore cleanup, too. 68.100.5.79 22:49, 8 October 2006 (UTC) Went on ahead and did it. I spent a lot of time doing it. Please don't dick with it too much unless something is actually wrong. Please? 3R1C 01:37, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi Chaps, I filled in some more of the secondary objectives which were missing. I tried to include references for all of them, but for a couple I could only rely on my "special insider knowledge (tm)" so I don't know if they are strictly valid for inclusion TheExtruder 12:07, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- To those who have contributed to the now-determined references, THANKS! Some good insight there. TheExtruder: Most of this section is speculation, so hopefully someone will keep their Fact-Tag Sword away. 3R1C 04:23, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Rename
[edit]Very generic name for this article - should it be moved to "Black (videogame)" ? --Oscarthecat 22:56, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, it needs to be moved. Look at Sirius Satellite Radio for an example. The company name uses all capital letters (SIRIUS). Its article here on Wikipedia redirects SIRIUS Satellite Radio to Sirius Satellite Radio. I feel BLACK should be moved to Black (videogame). ♫ Bitch and Complain Sooner ♫ 18:36, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
The Official name is completely capitalized, so if a person knows what they're looking for, They'll find it easily. Ace Class Shadow 04:17, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Grammar
[edit]Being the sticker I am, they (whoever it is) wrote labled as lable. Tenses!
There may be a few gramatical and spelling errors in the article. I would normaly do this myself but circumstances have made this dificult. It would be apreciated.
360 compability
[edit]will this game be compatibile with the Xbox 360? --Larsinio 16:27, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
no, not at launch Sventek 04:18, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- Similarly, is there any plan at all for a PC port? Joffeloff 16:04, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Um...while I was browsing Microsoft's 360 site, I found this: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm
Looks like BLACK is backwards compatible in the March update, can anyone confirm this?
Game leak
[edit]Most of the information in the article comes from the recent leak of the game on the internet, but I have decided not to note the leak itself within the article. Do note that the leak is a final copy of the game. Sventek 04:18, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Commercial
[edit]The commercial which started to Advertise BLACK in February shows a lovely Mansion being riddled with bullets while Verdi's Noi siamo zingarelle from La Traviata plays. I personally believe it to be the best video game commercial ever.

Black Ops/Black-Ops/black ops/black-ops
[edit]When we reference 'Black Ops', which letters do we capitalize (if any) and is there a hyphen? The Wiki article for Black Op is titled black op, with no capitals or hyphen. Should we follow that methodology? ♫ Bitch and Complain Sooner ♫ 15:19, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Pictures
[edit]We need pictures of the in-feature game (FMV), in-gameplay and UK box Art Or do I have to do all things my self!?
- >x<ino 00:10, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- thanks, that saves us from doing the work if you do it :D
- if you're gonna suggest it then bitch that it isnt getting done take the time to do it 3R1C 04:29, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- thanks, that saves us from doing the work if you do it :D
Speculation
[edit]The paragraph starting with "It is not known whether or not Criterion obtained all of the licensing for the real life weapons..." seems like unnecessary speculation (or pseudo-speculative-non-speculation).
Walther WA 2000
[edit]The weapons section says that it's a "non bull-pup slide type bolt-action rifle", while the actual page for the gun describes it as bullpup semi-automatic rifle. As I don't have the game, can someone else confirm the current description? 144.135.138.40 05:35, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- WA2000 in game is a normal gun, no bullpup, no bolt action.
Sequel cancelled
[edit]I've cleaned up all speculative references to a sequel and attached a reference link for the D-Pad interview stating there won't be one.--DMD (talk) 01:45, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Bodycount
[edit]Was announced a few weeks ago. It's from the Black (video game) creator Stuart Black. I don't know, if it is officially the sequel to Black, but some websites say so. --SkySilver (talk) 18:42, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
