High Fives! to Cristian!
[edit]I see you had the same idea as I, my friend! It looks like you beat me to the draw in creating an article for the Boian culture, but that's totally fine. I'll be adding a bunch of stuff to it I've been working on. --Saukkomies talk 23:53, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- So there ya go! How does it look? As you can see, I had this almost ready - I'd been working on it for weeks - and was just getting ready to create the new page when I found out you'd just beat me to it. Heh. At any rate, at least it makes the Cucuteni-Trypillian sidebar look better now - no "dead link" there for a nonexistent Boian Culture article! Talk to you later. --Saukkomies talk 06:53, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
what culture came after boian?
[edit]after the boian culture ended what culture existed in boian territory? i understand that there was a tribe called thracians that lived in this region by about the year 1230 BC. i would like to know what culture came after boian. 99.164.109.17 (talk) 21:18, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I believe that you will find the answer to your question in the section of this article called End of culture. --Saukkomies talk 22:53, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- Apparently it is now called Decline. --Saukkomies talk 03:08, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Mistaken chronology
[edit]The Gumelnita-article tells us, "The aggregate "Kodjadermen-Gumelnita-Karanovo VI" evolves out of the earlier Boian, Marita and Karanovo V cultures." and dates is "4700-3950 BC". In contrast, we here are told that the Boian culture dated between "4300–3500 BC". The audience would be glad if an expert could solve this contradiction.HJJHolm (talk) 15:23, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- No one caring?? Newer literature: Both Govedarica 2004 and Nikolaeva 2009 date the Boian culture to 5200-4700, now correctly preceding the Gumelnica. HJJHolm (talk) 06:49, 17 June 2017 (UTC)
- Those dates certainly make more sense, HJJHolm, however we'll need citations for them before we can update the article. The ones you have given aren't very easy to track down for me. I can request Govedarica 2004 (Zepterträger - Herrscher der Steppen – correct?) from my library's stores but that will take some time. I wasn't able to figure out what Nikokaeva 2009 was in reference to. If you could provide full references for these dates it would be appreciated and greatly speed things along! – Joe (talk) 09:45, 17 June 2017 (UTC)
