Number of goals?
[edit]Hi I was just wondering what's going on regarding the number of goals Brent Harvey has kicked because according to the North Melbourne website he has kicked 399 but on afl tables he has 441. So let me know.
Thanks JackETC (talk) 08:10, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- The stats on this pages only go back to 2001 (http://www.afl.com.au/stats#stats-player-stats), as does the career stats on Harvey's NMFC page. However, they used to go back to 1999. The tally on the NM website matches his tally since 1999. That's the only thing I can think of. Since it's only him and Fletch pre-1999, they may have just let it slide.
Number of Games
[edit]"In elite Australian rules football (the VFL/AFL, SANFL and WAFL), Harvey is one of seven players (Harvey and the other four VFL/AFL players being joined by Craig Bradley and Peter Carey) to have played 400 career premiership matches (home-and-away and finals matches), and is ranked third for most career premiership matches played behind Bradley (464, including 89 SANFL matches for Port Adelaide) and Burgoyne (433, including 26 SANFL matches for Port Adelaide) as of 2022."
The italic highlighted is incorrect. Craig Bradley played at the time when VFL and SANFL were considered both equal elite level. Burgoyne on other hand played SANFL when there was AFL level, therefore SANFL was no longer as elite. Also I have yet to see any citation for this? Same goes for this comment on Burgoyne page, so I recommend either add citation, or delete the italic sentence, and promote Harvey to ranked second.
