not great sentence

[edit]

Just passing through. This sentence could use some work:

In March 2024, on the Investigation Discovery documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, whom Peck worked with on The Amanda Show, was revealed to be his victim.[a] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.140.202.138 (talk) 04:26, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Recent addition

[edit]

Is it necessary for this contribution, Here? You don’t usually see the sexual orientation of people in the lead. Especially the way it is said here. Now if there was a subsection discussing his sexual orientation and when he/she came out, that’s more understandable. Thoughts? Elvisisalive95 (talk) 15:30, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I added it because he was seen as gay to his co-workers. But I can understand the reason for that removal; the terrible things he did to Drake Bell OVERSHADOWED everything else about him. And plus, I hadn't found a source pre-2003 (or even pre-2024) that confirms his sexual identity. Yoshiman6464 ♫🥚 18:01, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, one of his flim forum posts (made under the username oldox60) had him calling a guy hot, so that's one 5.62.132.85 (talk) 11:24, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Drake Bell template

[edit]

Should we include the Drake Bell template here or is it unnecessary? 2600:100C:A20E:2:38F4:3824:3305:FFDC (talk) 23:13, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I minimalized him in the Drake Bell template, by putting him with Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. Yoshiman6464 ♫🥚 04:13, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notability/Guidelines

[edit]

Please be aware that the Template:Infobox_criminal template is generally reserved for very notable serial killers, gangsters, mass murderers, and other notorious criminals. Eg. Jesse James or Al Capone. This person may not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Is this person famous for being an actor or for being a criminal? If it's the latter, what does "Years Active" refer to? WikiMane11 (talk) 18:40, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ThunderPeel2001: Brian Peck is famous for being BOTH an actor and a criminal. His connections as an actor enabled him to commit his crimes. He is not only in Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, but also on an earlier documentary, An Open Secret. So to answer your question, the person is famous for being both. "Years Active" refers to his acting career. There are also sources dating back to the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s regarding his acting career. And so yes, he is notable. Yoshiman6464 ♫🥚 04:14, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Yoshiman6464: Sorry, but I can't find any articles about his acting career. He's had a few minor roles and cameos it seems, but that's it. He was in two cult movies in the 1980s. More evidence is that he's not notable for being an actor is the fact that he stopped acting decades ago but this page was only created this month. So that suggests he's notable for being a criminal, but again, it does not appear that he meets the standards required for this. Being featured in a documentary, with other offenders, does not make you notable. For example, here in the UK we recently had an awful attack on a woman and her two children. This was huge news and there is a Wikipedia page for this incident alone. Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, the perpetrator of the attack, does not have a page. Same goes for the recent murder of Sarah Everhardt. The police officer responsible, Wayne Couzens, does not have a page, despite there being entire documentaries dedicated to him. In fact, the more I've looked into this following your comment, the more I think this qualifies for rapid deletion. I will flag it and let the community decide. Thanks! If you really feel this way and request a discussion, how about starting a Proposed deletion discussion? 2600:100C:A20E:2:4D97:874A:928B:2F3F (talk) 22:14, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I'll wait for the documentary to finish (incase it changes anything) and then propose a deletion. WikiMane11 (talk) 17:31, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
His IMDB page says his last acting credit was in 2015, not "decades ago". As well there is nothing online to suggest he is retired. Unless you're saying an actor isn't an actor unless they have hollywood success? Bunnyhood (talk) 05:31, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have an IMDb page. I am not on Wikipedia. Simply appearing in uncredited roles, or minor roles as "Guy" or "Creepy Laugh" does not make you a notable actor. WikiMane11 (talk) 17:31, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Bunnyhood (talk) 20:35, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He is an actor. Bunnyhood (talk) 05:34, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Being an actor is not reason enough to be listed on WP. Comments like this make me believe this this page has agenda. WikiMane11 (talk) 17:45, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, just being an actor alone isn't enough be on WP. I was replying to the question of 'is he famous for being an actor or for being a criminal'. Apologies for not being more detailed with my answer. Bunnyhood (talk) 20:33, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ThunderPeel2001: I added another part in this article that details that many well-known actors, directors, and producers supported Brian Peck during his trial. After their letters were revealed, they regretted supporting Peck. Yoshiman6464 ♫🥚 18:45, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He is notable enough to have been invited to horror conventions as a panelist (he is best known as Scuz) 2600:100C:A219:7127:D24:3E19:FF83:20DC (talk) 21:39, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've been to conventions where a nameless stormstroopers from Star Wars were guests(!). All of Peck's most notable roles occurred before Wikipedia launched, so if he was actually notable for being an actor, it's likely he would have been added in the subsequent 20 years... but he wasn't. (And if he was, he was removed for not being notable enough.) WikiMane11 (talk) 16:07, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I just looked through your sources. It appears 41 individuals wrote letters of support. It seems only two or three have recanted them? (Unless I'm missing some?) This gap should be accurately reflected in the article. WikiMane11 (talk) 16:03, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
