Proposed
[edit]An impartial editor has reviewed the proposed edit(s) and asked the editor with a conflict of interest to go ahead and make the suggested changes. |
Hi
My name is Kevin O’Connor and for full transparency I am External Communications Manager at BAT.
Below I have made four suggested factual changes to the opening paragraphs of BAT's Wikipedia article which I believe would bring it more up-to-date.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these proposed updates.
Many thanks Kevin

- Hi Kevin at BAT,
- thanks for your request! Suggestion 1, 2, and 4 are appropriate, you can proceed with implementation.
- Regarding suggestion 3, it is not clear to me why this would be sufficiently important or notable to appear in the introduction of such a long article. It is also worded a little awkwardly, I would recommend rewriting it; it does not need to include the trademarked name of the strategy. Feel free to ping me when you have made the appropriate changes to your suggestion, and I'll take another look. Actualcpscm (talk) 12:16, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Actualcpscm.
- Kevin from BAT here again. Thanks very much for your feedback re the British American Tobacco article.
- Had posted the below on your talk page. Maybe I should have posted here instead? In any case, I fully take on board your point re the trademarked strategy and have removed this proposed line: 'In March 2020 BAT announced its new strategy to build A Better Tomorrow by reducing the health impact of its business.'
- I've subsequently extended the line about Vuse, glo and Velo (underlined for visibility) and added in the underlined text in the next paragraph to avoid too many paragraphs starting with 'BAT'.
- Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
- Many thanks, Kevin
