The biographical info is not general knowledge, is totally unsourced, and reads like a personal reminiscence. As per WP:CITE ("If you find unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about a living person—whether in an article or on a talk page—remove it immediately!") all material other than the fact that McLeod was moderator was removed. I am systematically creating, updating and sourcing articles on UCC moderators. This article is on my list; just haven't gotten to it yet (apart from doing up the infobox right nice!) Other placements besides as Moderator

Is it not desirable and possible to mention congregations where Dr McLeod was the minister? He was, among others, at Bloor Street United -- where other prominent clergy and laity have also served -- and it continues in lively health that other congregations do not have any longer. Ministers like Dr. McLeod will have served at numerous pastoral charges. Listing every one of them would be tedious and unnecessary; however, if significant events in his life were related to a particular pastoral charge, then yes, details of his time and the significant event should be highlighted, with documentation from reliable sources, of course. That being said, I am not sure that the mere fact that he served at Bloor Street United is notable enough to mention. It would also be difficult to ascribe the continued "lively health" of the congregation to Dr. McLeod--one would think that the present staff would more properly be credited with the present health of the congregation.Guinness323 (talk) 17:14, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Oh, I did not mean that Bloor Street United's continued existence is attributable to Dr McLeod once having been its minister; only that so many once significant United Churches are long gone and doubtless forgotten, whereas mention of Bloor Street United is far from obscure. The point is, he had an extremely high profile as Moderator; surely there can be a statement as to what else he did besides spend those two years. Masalai (talk) 18:05, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Alas, my knowledge of him is from personal encounter when he preached at the Anglican cathedral where I was then deputy and was later principal organist. Plus seeing him on television and reading him in the Observer. Best preacher I ever heard in that cathedral before or after, including the new dean who became and remains a personal friend, himself later the archbishop and then primate. I myself had an even yet vividly remembered conversation with Dr McLeod that morning; even more astoundingly appealing and persuasive than his predecessor Dr Robert McLure. Unfortunately as I say I have no documentation as to his astounding articulate persuasiveness. I subsequently wound up at U of T graduate school; hoped to learn a great deal musically through being in the choir at St Thomas's, just west of U of T and south of Bloor St United, and just listening at St Mary Magdalene's. But word got around that I was reasonably competent as an organist -- even being the prairie hick I fundamentally remain -- and I wound up being hired as substitute in UC's all over Toronto, playing for a rector friend in Milton and bringing my friend Donald Kendrick, who had been my organ teacher back home, from Hamilton also to play in Milton. Having even after becoming a lawyer been organist in United, non-concurring Presbyterian, Anglican, Lutheran and RC churches at home on the Canadian prairies, in Toronto and Vancouver besides here in Australia and up in Papua New Guinea though there are only electric organs and only in towns there, I have needless to say heard a great deal of preaching, in English, German, French, Tok Pisin and Indonesian; for that matter my Jewish wife and our children have with me been good friends with several clergy and if not celibate their families. Not a single one has even remotely approached Dr McLeod's astounding eloquence and charismatic personality. I was a mere kid when I encountered him but am now well into middle age so my subsequent exposure to other clergy has been substantial. But as I say, I alas have no documentation and of course my mere personal experience and knowledge are no good here on Wikipedia. Sorry about all that verbiage.
