Needs Work

[edit]

I believe this article could definitely do to be expanded. I've removed the citation on difference feminism and replaced it with a 'citation needed' tag, as the original link was broken. I tracked down the cited material here:

Powerpoint File

but found it to be of rather poor quality. I'll look at the Difference Feminism article and see if I can find anything useful in there.

Additionally, and perhaps this is what the 2 year old comment below is referring to, Gilligan's claims in In a Different Voice were not uncontested, though (to my knowledge) they did spurn a lot of feminist and/or psychological work. My knowledge is anecdotal, however, so I'll do my best to research those claims, and may add a 'controversy' section if need be. Alternatively, I'll take a look at the article for In a Different Voice, and if there's sufficient information there, make mention of it here.

The article on difference feminism has the same broken sources, so I'm going to remove them and replace with citation needed. Gonna keep combing through that article.

On her personal web page on her NYU professor profile, she lists every academic award she received, all of her research, as well as her teaching career in chronological order. I feel this website will be very useful in finding the most accurate information on her. In fact, it even has a phone number and email to contact her, so check it out. http://its.law.nyu.edu/facultyprofiles/profile.cfm?section=pubs&personID=19946 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carissa.Raines512 (talkcontribs) 06:19, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There were a few things on Carol's page that I think should be looked into but do not feel I have the say to make the changes to. For starters, there is a broken link for reference number 6, however I contacted the Harvard Gazette for how to obtain a correct link, but I am yet to receive a response from them. There is a link for an article on reference 9 that does not exist on the website. Also, references number 2 and 19 appear to lead to the same link, however I may be incorrect about that. More on the last paragraph, I added the journal articles listed on the website to thee Wikipedia article, but I was unsure how to link book chapters, so perhaps someone should look into that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tcstj17 (talkcontribs) 05:47, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article is a good start, but there should be a section in here somewhere about her longstanding disagreements with Christina Hoff Sommers regarding some of her methods and conclusions. Andacar 15:31, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Page needs more information on her actual philosophy.

[edit]

For a class project, I will be working on editing the page and trying to synthesize her philosophy with two other members of my class. A bibliography will be posted here before being put onto the actual article. We are interested in her feminist philosophy as they relate to ethics.Uhlexah (talk) 20:32, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
