[edit]This makes absolutely no sense - the article says he was born in 1761 but his parents in 1764 and 1765? - Quirk 07:22, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I've been looking for what the real birthdates were and I haven't been able to find anything about his parents. His own birthdate seems to be correct, though.--Maskedpantsman 16:55, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC) he was a gay man with 3 boyfriends —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.3.24.50 (talk) 19:48, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
The birthdates are right; the parents are wrong. Thomas Wistar (1764-1851) is this Caspar's brother, not his father. But Caspar's brother Thomas has a son who was also a prominent doctor named Caspar Wistar (1801-1867), which is probably the source of the confusion. I will fix the entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.94.83.200 (talk) 15:19, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
Which abolitionist society?
[edit]The article states that Wistar served as a chairman for "the Society for the Abolition of Slavery". I don't find this organisation in the wp. However, I do find "the Pennsylvania Society for the Abolition of Slavery", alias the Pennsylvania Abolition Society. Is this what the article should refer to? - Yes, link now corrected. --DThomsen8 (talk) 01:05, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
