UCF College of Medicine Wiki Medicine Project[edit]

Hello all! My colleague and I would like to expand upon some parts of this article in order to improve its comprehensiveness for public consumption. Here are our plans for each section:

Cause:

expand on cause with more pathophysiology, describing how a hematoma forms in general

Prevention:

Expand on effectiveness of various prevention methods

Find more information about each headgear type

Treatment:

Expand on surgical corrections of cauliflower ear, as article currently leaves much to be desired

History:

Find some more fun facts about famous folks with cauliflower ear or, if possible, some famous folks who had it successfully treated

Queried wording[edit]

What does "values under the gram" mean? I'm not familiar with US food-labelling pratices - does it mean less than 1.0g per kg, or something more esoteric?

the references are in g/kg. I found you a link http://nutrition.about.com/library/foodfind/blcauliflower.htm.

Oh, and I assume that this is yet another part of this article's Americanocentralism ;-)

Of course :-) Which is why it was added by a french person :-) This said, you can remove the USDA if you prefer :-)

What does "cauliflower provides 94% of Vitamin C for a PDV" refer to? A single cauliflower? 100g of cauliflower? A serving of cauliflower?

Production[edit]

In 2016, global production of cauliflowers (combined for production reports with broccoli) was 25.2 million tonnes...

"Tonnes"? "Tones"? "Tons"? In following the link to find out why cauliflower production might be measured in audio units, I find that "tonne" is a somewhat controversial and ambiguous term.
