Short article containing only material pertaining to 2016 South Korean political scandal. In addition, given that it is a BLP dealing primarily with accusations of the subject, increased traffic and scrutiny should result in less change of BLP policy violations. • Doesn't seem like Choi Soon-sil should be merged with 2016 South Korean political scandal. One article is about a person and one article is about an event in which that person is involved. Additionally, the scandal page redirects to "Choi Soon-sil gate;" I don't see any sources using that name and it's very Americentric anyway. Oppose the merge. WiiWillieWiki 20:05, 29 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose merge, if any thing the 2016 South Korean political scandal should be merged with the Choi Soon-sil article. It is still early days and who knows how big this story will develop. Inter&anthro (talk) 20:15, 29 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose merge. I think both the person and the event are separately notable. The bio article can cover her life, and the scandal article - well, the scandal. Btw, do note that term "Choi Soon-sil gate" is used in sources, ex. [1]. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:24, 30 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose merge, the whole investigation and scandal is only after being discovered. I believe this will expand. People don't know the extent of Park Guen-hye's involvement with the entire story. There is no point merging a article about a person and a political scandal together. CnocBride (talk) 15:12, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support There is not enough here to justify a separate article. This is mostly just repetition of the fast-changing scandal article. If you take out the repetitive information on the scandal, you are left with a single sentence ("Choi Soon-sil (born 23 June 1956) is the daughter of a South Korean Shamanistic cult leader, Choi Tae-min."). The topics are not different; she is only notable because of the scandal. Make this article a subsection of the scandal article and redirect this title to that subsection. When the subsection grows big enough, then create a separate page. A separate article is premature. Further this is a fast-moving scandal now. Having separate articles risk one becoming outdated. Better keep one article that can be regularly updated.--Iloilo Wanderer (talk) 14:48, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - It's a huge scandal. -- Kanghuitari (talk) 06:14, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

As of the time of this edit I'd say that the picture is pretty poor. It is obviously a snapped photo of the subject hiding their face, a better picture should be loaded instead if possible. Thanks. Inter&anthro (talk) 14:17, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pseudo-Christian?

[edit]

What is a Pseudo-Christian? Looks more like someone's personal opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.206.228.249 (talk) 17:52, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It resembles the rituals of the Christian, yet they are fakes deceive people. Freewillforever (talk) 10:56, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

3 different names?

[edit]

Just curious, but does anyone know why/how she has a different "Korean name", "birth name", and a "legal name"? Zeniff (talk) 05:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
