Untitled
[edit]According to [1] it was "built for standard high platform subway cars and interurbans". But from what I can make out from the photos on [2], the interurban cars had street-level entrances. How would this have worked? --NE2 06:32, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
I think the part about the missing persons should be deleted. I can't find any source of that info anywhere. hawkfrost18 (talk) 01:51, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Indeed - I've removed it, as even the name (Professor Donald Brinkermeyer) is a GoogleWhack. pbones (talk) 18:04, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Largest abandoned subway?
[edit]Are you sure? The source is a youtube video. The Rochester subway also lays abandoned yet it has 23 stations compared to Cincinnati's 3. Sub! 17:58, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Yeah I looked at the link, it's on Youtube but its a credible new broadcast. I don't know much about Rochester, how long is the subway system? Cincy's is a little over 2 miles long. Also looking at the Wikipedia article for Rochester's it looks like the city is filling in the subway so that would make it not a tunnel- I.e Cincy still has an unfilled tunnel. If we can get any other sources that provide more specific data that would be useful. Bhockey10 (talk) 21:24, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed, that's it's on YouTube doesn't matter at all. It's a professional news broadcast (WLWT), not some kid rambling to a webcam in their dorm room. J.H (talk) 21:45, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Must complete
[edit]It is never too late to complete this subway. It will transform the city. Only 2 miles long? The city of Liverpool in England has about 5 miles of abandoned tunnels under its streets - some are mothballed for later use. Stations can be cut into them. Subways/light rail are eco and create vibrant communities.188.222.174.87 (talk) 10:15, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Gauge
[edit]Broad Gauge is any gauge wider than 4ft 8.5in. This article should be more specific on which gauge it is. Is it Russian Gauge? Brunel Gauge? Pennsylvania Gauge? Broad Gauge isn't specific enough. 15:39, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Dr. British12 (talk)

Newspaper wrote against the subway
[edit]You find in the article the sentence "Newspapers started to print articles arguing against the subway, using such rationales as the tight curve of the subway and its small tunnels to try to advocate against its completion." But I don't find any source for that. In the German Wikipedia we are arguing if the subway was also stopped because of the mass motorization and sayings against the subway. Can you help me?--Leiflive (talk) 06:28, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Cinci Subway Edits
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I'm going to be contributing to the Cincinnati Subway article. I will be adding more photos, greater detail, more proposed uses, and a more accurate description of the inside and layout of the underground tunnel. I will also be discussing in greater depth the lengths that the subway has become a popular location for street artists and graffiti writers. (Casadae3 (talk) 05:16, 16 October 2018 (UTC))
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I'm going to be adding all of my resources to the talk page after I post all of my edits. (Casadae3 (talk) 09:17, 3 November 2018 (UTC))
Edits I want to Make
[edit]This article fails to go into much detail regarding the proposition of the subway system and I want to cover more into that. I also would like to add bits and pieces to sections that I feel really don't cover the entire depth of the issues that arose from the subway system such as the construction and failure section and the attempts at revival section. I will also add in how the public felt as a reaction to the subway system. (Mpmohan1 (talk) 01:08, 2 November 2018 (UTC))
Another Video
[edit]Should we include an external link to the excellent 29-minute video from The Proper People which takes the viewer through the entire underground length of this subway? (America's Largest Abandoned Subway - Cincinnati Subway Explored!) Radec (talk) 01:52, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
