Note
[edit]This article has major problems. If it isn't cleaned up soon it should be renominated on AFD. --Coredesat 05:29, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
New York Times best seller
[edit]City of Bones was ranked 78th in the Chapter Books section on April 7, 2007 New York Times, Children’s Books, published 22 April 2007. Catchpole (talk) 11:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- The nytimes.com site may say that (or it may say 8th, like the article claims), but the link requires registration and is thus generally inaccessible and should not be used per Wikipedia:External links#Sites requiring registration. Please don't edit war; your time would be better spent finding a better link. --Jack Merridew 12:16, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- Jack, look at the guideline your invoking - it's about External links. It even says on the guideline page, "The subject of this guideline is external links that are not citations of article sources." So the basic premise of your objection doesn't even get out the gate. (And I can personally confirm the info in the article, because for some odd reason I was able to view the actual NYT article when I placed it, as you can see from this diff.) - Point taken; I've not removed it again. --Jack Merridew 15:17, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
External links
[edit]The following links were just removed from the article:
- mortalinstruments.com, Cassandra Clare's website for information about the Mortal Instruments trilogy
- cassandraclare.livejournal.com a blog written by Cassandra Clare.
I would urge them to be restored as common sense tells me they are relevant to the article. Catchpole (talk) 15:11, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- I originally placed them there as reference materials for the rewrite, not really intending they stay there permanently. As long as they're here for access, that should be fine. They do have access to info that could be integrated into the article. Pairadox (talk) 15:21, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- nb: I didn't remove them. --Jack Merridew 15:25, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- I saw that Jack.<3 It's really my fault for not putting them here on the talk page in the first place like I thought about. I just didn't want them to get overlooked and didn't expect this to heat up so fast. I thought they'd be "safe" there for a while. Pairadox (talk) 15:50, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Teaser section?
[edit]I would propose we remove the teaser section since there's a no spoiler alert policy for novels. I can return to this later unless someone objects to removing it. Roseclearfield (talk) 20:30, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- Teaser is simply jacket copy. Removed. Roseclearfield (talk) 21:52, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Anyone familiar with this series care to add it to this list?
[edit]Types of mythological or fantastic beings in contemporary fiction is a page of, well, fantasy works (movie, TV, written, whatever) and the assorted mythological and/or fantastic critters they contain. This series would likely qualify. Anyone care to add it? Tamtrible (talk) 00:54, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
Shadowhunter Position
[edit]Just curious what the purpose of this section is and it's relevance. I feel like it is already explained in the plot, or this could be added more in depth there. Thanks, just a thought! Nickyyy35 (talk) 14:11, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
