Gummy Sue

[edit]

There's definitely two more children than the 27. There's Condoleeza Marie and there's Gummy Sue:

"A people tooth! This one's for you, Gummy Sue!"

Wifebeater?

[edit]

The use of that term is not wide spread enough that the meaning would be clear to many readers of this article. The term should be changed to "white tank-top" to improve clarity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.66.111.41 (talk) 13:42, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article says that Cletus has 27 kids, but then names 28. Moreover, AidPc claims there are at least 29. (Condoleeza Marie is named in the article but Gummy Sue is not.) Can anyone (with an encyclopedic knowledge of Simpsons trivia and way too much time on his or her hands) clear this up? dbtfztalk 03:42, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rename page?

[edit]

At the time of moving, Cletus Spuckler seemed a perfectly good name. But now I consider the fact that he's also known as "Cletus Delroy", among others.

So I propose we have a vote.

Vote

[edit]

You may change these options, but only to add another.

Keep Cletus Spuckler.

  1. Keep Cletus Spuckler. It is the official name. --DChiuch 01:52, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Keep per #1 - Adolphus79 22:31, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Change to Cletus Delroy.

Change to Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel.

  1. If this is the character's best-known name, as the article asserts, then it should be moved there per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names), no? Flowerparty 14:44, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Change to Cletus (The Simpsons)

  1. Discrepancy in names means this is the best option.~ZytheTalk to me! 15:40, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Precognition?

[edit]

Does the scene in "The Wandering Juvie" qualify him to go into Category:Fictional characters with precognition?

The precognition characteristic should be later in his biography. It is from season 15 and was most likely just a convenient plot twist. The biography should focus on his being the "hillbilly" of Springfield. Edit: I have no attachment to this character--just stumbled on it. As a lifelong Simpson's viewer, this detail is inconsequential to his character in the show. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.228.40.13 (talk) 23:15, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject: Simpsons

[edit]

OK... Anyone interested in helping cleanup the Simpsons information, join the WikiProject... if we can all work together, instead of different editors working on different pages, we can get all the Simpsons information on all of Wikipedia organized... - Adolphus79 04:48, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reorganization

[edit]

I took a stab at organizing the article into sections -- it was very loosely formatted. I removed the "Keven Federline/Britney Spears" bit, since I couldn't figure out an encyclopedic way to say "some people use this as a catty term for the celebrity couple due to their perception that Federline and Spears are white trash." If someone can phrase it more politely and eloquently, feel free to re-add it... but try to have some sort of citation. - DynSkeet * Talk 14:30, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am both drunk and not entirely conversant with the operation of wikipedia discission editing, but please can someone add the quote (I paraphrase) 'cleetus you can knock me up again' to the quotes section. I think it was meant to be a derogatory reference to provincial people having no concept of familly planning, but to me it indicated a solidity in their relationship that made me envy cleetus :)

Huh, another set of kids. That's gonna mess things up.

Fair use rationale for Image:Brandine Spuckler.png

[edit]

Image:Brandine Spuckler.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Kids

[edit]

I wonder if Cletus just can't remember his children's names and calls them different things from day to day. It would explain a lot. Lots42 (talk) 18:50, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Straughton?

[edit]

Why does the panel on the right list the name as "Cletus Straughton" instead of "Cletus Spuckler?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.36.79.124 (talk) 10:54, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
