Bias in the article[edit]

While it's fairly common for ancient writers to exaggerate the size of armies in the field, saying that Xenophon's figures are "absurd" seems un-encyclopedic. If no one objects by this tomorrow, I'm going to try to edit it to something a bit more neutral. Tev (talk) 22:14, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

"Ten Thousand"[edit]

This article incorrectly asserts that the army gatered by Cyrus in 401 B.C.E was known as "the Ten Thousand."

The Ten Thousand was in fact the number of Greek mercenary soldiers in the army, and a precisde breakdown of the Greek numbers can be found in Anabasis I.II.

In comparison, the total size of Cyrus' own force is never fully detailed.

This need wsto be changed.
