Heading of Article Incorrect

[edit]

The use of the name 'Danny' is incorrect. Stannard is actually David Daniel Stannard, but he acknowledges the common use of the 'nickname' Dan

Do you have a source for this? --Katangais (talk) 19:55, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Personal contact and interview with the subject of the page, Dan Stannard, and British South Africa Police Nominal Roll of Former Members. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8646 Andrew (talkcontribs) 21:15, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It would be helpful if you could also elaborate on when this interview was made, or when you last had contact with/received information from Mr. Stannard. I could include it as a citation on the main page. --Katangais (talk) 21:41, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I am in constant communication with Mr Stannard, since I am presently authoring a manuscript on Southern African intelligence organizations,,yet to be published. I last received communication from him concerns this article on 24 January 2015. He has specifically requested that the article be headed correctly and that certain incorrect material in the main body be corrected... For example, he was stated as being Irish, he was born in Peshawar, Pakistan, of British parents. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.211.210.146 (talk) 05:10, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've gotten approval to move this article to Dan Stannard, since David Stannard is already taken and I really feel the page would benefit from a unique name rather than a disambiguation link. If this is objectionable (ie Mr. Stannard would still prefer a title with his birth name) let me know. We would probably put it here: David Stannard (police officer) instead and create a disambiguation index. --Katangais (talk) 10:22, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
