Questioning the rating
[edit]I'm not sure this quite qualifies as B class, I'd say very high Start, right on the borderline. - Aerobird 04:51, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed, there was a problem with the banner coding, checklist is indicating more cites needed. Assessed as C class. Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 20:52, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
french vtol aircraft
[edit]i believe this aircraft (or another french vtol) needed a water-cooled platform for vtol. When the p1127 made its debut at the paris air show (flying backwards, flanked by helicopters), it made a point of landing on the grass next to the dassault.

Name
[edit]Mirage IIIV? IIIV is not a well-formed Roman Numeral. Is it supposed to be 2? Or 35 maybe? Just what are you supposed to call it? Eye eye eye vee? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.43.44.229 (talk) 03:39, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- 3-Vee. - BilCat (talk) 04:09, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- Dassault [1] call it the III V, with a space. Presumably the idea is that it's a VTOL version of the Mirage III. I think this article might be improperly named. Card Zero (talk) 17:58, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
A technical move request was made here to move the page to Dassault Mirage III V, and performed before I was able to contest it. I've since reverted the move. While the Dassault web page does use the format "Mirage III V" (and "Mirage III A", "III B", etc), most reliable published sources appear use IIIV. WP uses the common name as published in reliable sources, not the official name. I don't know if this is a recent change by Dassault, or if they've always used a space between the Roman numeral and the variant letter, but it really isn't relevant. - BilCat (talk) 17:04, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
- Agree the common name in English is Mirage IIIV interestingly it says "Dassault Sud Mirage IIIV" on the tail. MilborneOne (talk) 17:11, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
