David Backes (ice hockey) → David Backes – There are only two articles on Wikipedia about people named David Backes. I believe the hockey player should be at an undisambiguated title as I think he is the primary topic. The author's stub article can be dealt with by a simple hatnote. Canuck89 (click here!) 01:25, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- See Talk:Claude Giroux for similar case. Canuck89 (have words with me) 01:58, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- No objection but are you also volunteering to fix all the "what links here" that will need changing? Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:56, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- Won't be a problem, as David Backes (ice hockey) will remain as a redirect, and very small amount (15ish) of pages linking to David Backes are things such as user talk pages. Canuck89 (have words with me) 01:58, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- The best solution when there are only two articles is not to have a dabpage at all, but provide each page with a dab-capnote. However, incloming links to articles will still need to be fixed. Peterkingiron (talk) 20:45, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- As I said above, see related discussion at Talk:Claude Giroux, and my other comment above about incoming links. Canuck89 (chat with me) 01:51, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- Support per nom. -DJSasso (talk) 12:23, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- Support. The hockey player is clearly the primary topic per page view counts. He gets about 3,000 per month[1], while the author gets about 50 [2]. That's a factor of 60... definitive. --Born2cycle (talk) 06:31, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Animal lover (Non-profit work)
[edit]Backes has done a lot of charity work involving dog adoption. I believe it's noteworthy here. His nonprofit, David's Dogs, works with a shelter in St. Charles, MO, Five Acres Animal Shelter. From St. Louis Blues official page, David's Dogs: "The shelter has been dedicated to ending pet homelessness, promoting responsible pet ownership and advocating for animal welfare since 1973. Five Acres provides a much needed second chance for animals to find their forever home."
