"He is a first generation Chinese-Canadian."

How is he a first generation Chinese-Canadian if he's from Guizhou, China? "First-generation Canadian" means the first descendents to be born in Canada. Bourquie (talk) 06:24, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graham Fletcher

[edit]

Bearcat (talk · contribs) removed information about Xiao's former campaign manager, Graham Fletcher, on the basis that the news articles were about actions Fletcher took, not actions Xiao took. However, I took a look at Xiao's testimonials page, and see Graham Fletcher has pride of place in the list of testimonials. Given that Fletcher previously worked as Xiao's campaign manager and given that Xiao still uses him as the first of five testimonials, given that the news story about Fletcher was available from multiple sources, and given the COI issues around the original removal (but, I want to be very, very clear, not around Bearcat's removal of the information), I wonder if it should be instated? For the record, while I live in Canada, I do not reside in the ward Xiao is contesting and am in no way in violation of WP:PAID with regard to Xiao (or indeed, any other candidate in any location anywhere), now or at any time in the past. @Bearcat: Note that I explicitly trust your judgment on Wikipedia political matters more than I trust my own. If you read this and think the paragraph should be reinstated (perhaps in a modified format), great. But if you believe it should remain out, that is sufficient for me. --Yamla (talk) 23:42, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
