Tom Petty lyric

[edit]

The article about the song " American Girl" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers claims that the song's opening line, "She was an American girl, raised on promises", comes from Dementia 13. Do you know if this is correct? Can you provide a citation? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 165.123.89.65 (talk) 16:05, August 20, 2007 (UTC)

Someone tried to insert that particular tidbit into the Dementia 13 article some months ago. At that time, I did a cursory Google search and came up with nothing. I subsequently deleted the claim from the article. Based on your comment, I just did another search with equally negative results. It appears this is strictly bogus, so I removed it from the American Girl article. If somebody can find a reliable source backing up the claim, the info should be reinstated.-Hal Raglan 03:10, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

garbled sentence

[edit]

"Thinking quickly, the scheming Louise throws the fresh corpse over the side of the boat, where they both come to rest at the bottom of the lake."

Both? I assume the other thing is the radio. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 10:32, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup and citation

[edit]

This article is incomplete and is missing important citations for its information. Information on the film's theatrical release is missing from the article and needs to be added to the article as a sub-section in the Release section and should include the film's box office gross. The Response (now renamed Reception) section needs to be rewritten so that it includes the film's initial response and later response which should be in sub sections if enough information warrants it. There also needs to be information on the film's legacy (Coppola would go on to write and direct several acclaimed films after this), and remake which is to be released this year. All of this information will need proper citations for its information and should not be from IMDb. This article has potential like most articles to advance towards GA and FA status if enough attention is given to it. Hopefully the right person comes along to give this article the attention it needs.--Paleface Jack (talk) 17:24, 19 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
