Complete re-do... done[edit]

I've greatly expanded the article, with a lot of specific information about editors, publication dates and numbers of biographies etc. It's pretty dry, I admit, with sources from the various DCB volumes themselves.

Nevertheless, this page deserved more and in honour of Canada's 140th, and the DCB's 48th, here it is! Canada Jack 07:08, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wow. What a change from previously. Good work I think (haven't read it all through yet). Canuckle 04:25, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I need to properly cite the sources - pretty well all from the various DCB volumes... Canada Jack 15:04, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added all the references to the facts stated within the article, though ALL are from within the pages of the DCB itself. I've not figured out how to add pages references within the notes sections without losing the information for the volumes - if someone wants to clean that up, be my guest.

Hopefully this forms a good basis for the article, I invite anyone to add stuff such as critiques of the project, it's role in terms of history and biography in Canada, etc. And any other references which are not from within the volumes themselves. Canada Jack 00:27, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

I have assessed this as B Class, as it contains a large amount of detail, organization and referencing. I have assessed this a low importance, as it is a highly specific and specialized topic within Canada. Cheers, CP 21:11, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I re-assessed it to C-class. I think it needs more secondary sources (referencing from something other than the Biography itself). -maclean (talk) 02:24, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{Dictionary of Canadian Biography}} a navigation template listing biography subjects in the DCB -- PBS (talk) 22:35, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The template {{Cite DCB}} automatically fills out some of the fields (see the documentation attached to the template) including the year based on the volume entry, otherwise it is similar to the standard template {{Cite encyclopedia}} -- PBS (talk) 22:35, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
