There is such an overwhelming wealth of info on this man. In the welter of facts I could not verify was his naturalization as an American (which might explain his admission to the Lafayette Escadrille), any details of his personal and social life, nor could I find anything about his activities in the 1930s and 1940s. That's what I know I don't know, just for starters.

It's a challenge, but I am just burnt out (check edit history for details).

Mr. Dorner, Where did you find the photograph of Didier Masson? Was it from the book Sky Pioneering by Ruth Reinhold? We have the Reinhold Collection which contains many photographs and research notes.
