Sources?

I added some context that I think is pretty obvious from watching the film, so it's verifiable in that sense, but it would be better if some sources could be found supporting it. Any ideas for sources? Discussions of Hindi film and how they have been changing would be great. - Taxman Talk 15:06, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

Well, I just want to point out... the film itself can be a source... and I think in some senses it might be the best (not for analysis, for fact). Beyond that, Planet Bollywood has some useful information. gren グレン 16:28, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

Um, I copyedited the additions, and removed the bit re Kajol's revealing outfits. Bollywood heroines were cavorting in revealing Western outfits long before DDLJ. I agree with the thesis re fresh elements and also don't know where to source it. Zora 20:06, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

Bit added at top -- keep it or not?

An anon added some material in the synopsis that wasn't about the plot. I moved it to the top and copyedited it. I'm still not sure that it's useful or needed, so would appreciate input from other editors. Zora 06:41, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Too much original research. If an important review or something can be found saying that then fine, but otherwise it's not too valuable. - Taxman Talk 12:55, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Untitled

I DON'T THINK THAAT DDLLJ's PLOT likens thta of the the sure thing absolutely no link no relation its original and the plot of DDLJ is of a third-world country whereas the other of a developed so drop this judgement up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.251.65.187 (talk) 15:33, 2 September 2007 (UTC) more care for this brand wikistaff it's a shame —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.251.71.196 (talk) 10:33, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Revised synopsis again

Someone had turned the synopsis into one long breathless paragraph in sub-standard English. I edited for style again. Zora 07:51, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

isnt this a film over 3 hours long, how can one add it to such a category? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MER-C (talkcontribs) 12:11, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Picture, dinner party

Devilitself, there's no need to repeat the picture shown at the top later in the article, with a caption that is speculation at best. Also, I removed most of the detail from the material you added re the dinner party in Mumbai. That is just too ephemeral to deserve space in an encyclopedia. It also needs a reference. Zora 10:41, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Smartsarang 06:33, 29 May 2007 (UTC) There was some major spelling mistake in the urdu script or words were written in reverse order carelessly. I have rectified that. You can check the spellings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MER-C (talkcontribs) 12:11, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

DDLJ turns 15 at Maratha Mandir on Oct 20, 2009

DDLJ turns 15 at Maratha Mandir, this movie has run for 15 years non-stop at Maratha Mandir and also gets 60-70% occupancy on weekdays. [1] Ganesh J. Acharya (talk) 06:55, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

I've started the section, please help expand.Ganesh J. Acharya (talk) 07:00, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Kumar Sanu

Could someone state on music section that this was the last movie where Sanu worked with Yash Raj Films. Torreslfchero (talk) 09:59, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't seem very important; and its not on Sanu's page either. BollyJeff || talk 12:04, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. Torreslfchero (talk) 12:30, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Conflicting info

This source says that Tom Cruise was first choice for the lead, yet this one says it was SRK all the way. They are both "reliable" sources, so what to do? BollyJeff || talk 14:45, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

I found another source that lists both actors and how the story evolved. BollyJeff || talk 14:59, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Minor Comments

  • Mention of film or its soundtrack been included in various publication's Top List is seen in few places (Lead as well as Soundtrack section). I guess writing the years of the publications of these lists there itself would be good as the Top Lists could be revised & ranking would then change. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 16:12, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Found and added date for BBC, but could not find date for the other one. BollyJeff || talk 20:10, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Added link to site rather than individual refs; the train one is enough. BollyJeff || talk 20:10, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Two comments

  1. "filmed in the National Capital Region of Gurgaon district" sounds very weird to me, should it not be more like "filmed in the Gurgaon district of the National Capital Region"?
  2. "NRIs are validated as potential model Indians citizens, even while living abroad" sounds clumsy to me, because NRIs live abroad by definition. Going back to the source, I would suggest something in the line of "NRIs are validated as potential model Indians citizens, even if they have no plan to resettle in India".

Biwom (talk) 16:23, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

I agree with the first point. For the second, I would just shorten it to "NRIs are validated as potential model Indians citizens". I already made the change, thanks. BollyJeff | talk 16:44, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Non-notable reviews

planetbollywood.com is not considered WP:RS and its reviewer "Avinash Ramchandani" is neither considered notable on his own. I have hence removed the review comments from this source. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 03:30, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

Bibliography section

I converted the "Bibliography" section to a subsection per MOS:BIB. As a section it is misplaced normally belonging first in the appendices in biographies or "Works or publications", "Discography", or "Filmography". As sourcing, along with text source integrity presents citations so related deserving a subsection. Otr500 (talk) 03:01, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

Still playing?

Does anyone know for sure that this is actually still playing at the Maratha Mandir? Is there some recent reference to back that up? Does anyone know for how long it was not playing? I think it was just a couple days, right? Bollyjeff | talk 17:47, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

As of July 4, 2018 it was still playing at Maratha Mandir. It remains unclear whether they ever ceased screening even temporarily, though this might have the answer. --Kailash29792 (talk) 09:05, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

ddlj total collections

why r u giving such false report that hum aapke hain koun has earned more than ddlj....it is totally rubbish ..go and seeinternational magazines, according to them it has grossed worldwide much more than hum aapke hain koun,,if u will get lifetime collections of ddlj then u will realize,,,it is the longest running movie ever ....it it just a matter of common sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.142.95.215 (talk) 08:51, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Which magazines? Please provide a reliable source. Yes, it has been playing a long time but only like one show a day in one theatre. BollyJeff | talk 02:06, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

According to "boxofiiceindia.com" ddlj has collected rupees 103 crore worldwide with a collection of 86.49 crores in India and $4.8 million overseas. Everytime i edit it by giving the source but still you all undo it, Why? You are showing false information to everyone and someone wants to correct it you are not enabling him to do so??? You are saying give a reliable source. I am giving it then also???? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarvagya 2003 Dubey (talkcontribs) 17:11, 26 October 2019 (UTC)
