Disney Junior (Southern African TV channel) → Disney Junior (European, Middle Eastern, and African TV channel) – Procedural conversion from a malformed move proposal with a merge template, posted on 5 October by User:ClaveScottPH. - When I rewrote WP:NCBC last year, I specifically contended that "TV channel" shouldn't be in any of these disambiguators when disambiguation is virtually entirely between TV channels, as here. 13 such pages would need moving: [1]. It appears the real issue is that there is that the channel focus has grown into include some eastern European countries. I wonder if there is even enough for most of the national variants of Disney Junior to have separate articles from Disney Junior. If this is to stay an article, I'd suggest Disney Junior (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). This is a kludgy title and topic definition, though. - I think a number of use prefer that "TV channel" remain part of the disambiguator, so I'd likely oppose the alt. proposal. But the proposed move is clunky – my personal recommendation would be to go for as simple a title as possible, say Disney Junior (African TV channel), and then do a series of redirects to it such as Disney Junior (Middle Eastern TV channel) and Disney Junior (European, Middle Eastern, and African TV channel). --IJBall (contribs • talk) 02:13, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- It gets a bit weird when the scope has been expanded to include Greece and, more recently, Croatia. I suspect the latter addition has caused the interest in a rename. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 04:29, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- One redirect can then be Disney Junior (Eastern European TV channel). But, in this case, I'd argue for simplicity/brevity in the disambiguator for the base article, and this channel seems to have started as a (primarily?) African channel. Then just use a bunch of redirects to cover all the ancillary cases. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 13:51, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

- Would "EMEA" work anywhere in the disambiguation for conciseness, given EMEA? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:39, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- I, for one, do not think "EMEA" passes WP:RECOGNIZABILITY for the regular readership. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 15:38, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- But I checked on the King of TV Sat and Lyngsat websites, and this pan-regional channel have seven [7] languages: English, Turkish, Polish, Romanian, Greek, Arabic and Bulgarian. That fact that the Polish and Romanian channels do air with local ads.
