How on earth did it take 33 years after the District Courts Act 1947 for District Courts actually to be established? Can anyone explain this apparent anomaly?GSTQ (talk) 22:21, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Magistrates' Courts existed before 1980. The District Courts Act 1947 was called the Magistrates' Courts Act 1947 until it was amended to change the name of the courts. Good Ol’factory (talk) 19:53, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

District Court Locations Update

[edit]

The list of locations of the Court needs to be updated. In particular, some of the locations currently listed as circuit courts only now have resident judges (e.g. Gisborne). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rohivanion (talkcontribs) 09:50, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
