Lack of references
[edit]There is a lot of crap in this article with nothing to back it up. It really comes off as one person's opinion, and not very encyclopedic. I may make some major changes.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Freshyill (talk • contribs) 02:02, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

- Sorry; I had contributed a lot to the article when I was fairly new, and not too familiar with Wiki rules such as "No Original Research" and "Weasel Words". I had just added in all I knew or had found out by asking, or experience. You really don't see info like this discussed by any reputable source, so it's hard to verify or document. The section "Expansion Plans" in particular could probably use some more work, but if anyone knows how to verify what I have left there, please do so.—Eric B 00:38, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Drake or duck
[edit]As the name of the company is Drakes, I would have thought that the image of the bird with cooks hat would be a Drake, not a Duck, it could be a Hen though. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 220.233.88.228 (talk) 22:56, 14 April 2007 (UTC).
- A "drake" is a male duck. — QuicksilverT @ 19:02, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Drakes had creamy cream; Hostess had grainy cream
[edit]Hostess's sweet cream inside Twinkies, Suzie Q's, and Ding Dongs always had a granular sugar mouthfeel component that I thought made it vastly inferior to the very velvety cream inside the Drake's Ring Ding, Yodel, Devil Dog, and Yankee Doodle. Shouldn't this be in the article someplace. It was very unoriginal research because everybody who bit into one of each would know. 68.174.97.122 (talk) 23:19, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- Unless you have a source backing up this, it still is Wikipedia:Original research. (t) Josve05a (c) 11:00, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Borden Annual Reports
[edit]Now it is established and cited that Borden acquired Drake's Cakes. However I'm still a little iffy on the date the encyclopedia gives. Drake's website cites it in 1929, the encyclopedia cites it in 1946, and originally it was acquired in the 1960s (but it wasn't cited). I wonder if I can find documents from Borden's Annual Reports somewhere (would be a great resource for the Borden article too). I already found an archive for a few annual reports, but I wished there were more. FunksBrother (talk) 14:28, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
Devil docs.
[edit]Make a mint chocolate devil dog. I’m sure it would be a hit. 2601:197:4401:B360:BC7C:AC16:F5EE:8087 (talk) 03:55, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
