Lü Ji?

[edit]

I have never heard Lü Ji (呂積) or Lü anything being used to refer to the Dukes of Qi. Could we just say "His given name was Ji (積), clan name Lü (呂), ancestral name Jiang (姜)"?--The Emperor's New Spy (talk) 02:28, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That would be fine. Zhou dynasty monarchs rarely used their surnames anyway (sort of like modern European monarchs). -Zanhe (talk) 05:17, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comparing Zhou dynasty nobles (zhuhou) to European monarchs and nobles is not a good idea, I just hope you know what you doing.--The Emperor's New Spy (talk) 06:36, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
