Eastern Orthodoxy and Oriental Orthodoxy[edit]

Based on the numbers reported for countries like Ethiopia, this article seems to have conflated Eastern Orthodoxy with Oriental Orthodoxy/non-Chalcedonian churches. These are two different communions and have been for about 1500 years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:4C0:8180:21F0:606F:6AFD:5836:B7C1 (talk) 04:34, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, they are different traditions. The article has "2,000 members" under Ethiopia (no source is given though). --Omnipaedista (talk) 10:06, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fix requested[edit]

Hey, could someone change the demarcator in the third column for Egypt, Syria, Armenia, and Ethiopia from a comma to a full stop? Using a comma breaks the ability to sort by percentage; in the case of Egypt, "0,35" is sorted as "35" and not "0.35". If someone were to use this table as is they might assume Egypt had more Eastern Orthodox citizens than they actually do. --24.76.103.169 (talk) 19:25, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done! --Omnipaedista (talk) 19:43, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! --24.76.103.169 (talk) 08:00, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 27 February 2021[edit]

Change Syrian statistics that have an incorrect comma in the percentage of church members. This should be replaced by a period. The existing typo causes ordering of the "Eastern Orthodox Church religious adherence by country" table to render improperly. JazzieCatGirl (talk) 00:50, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. This may be a case of WP:ENGVAR where some countries use , instead of . as seperator. RudolfRed (talk) 01:50, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: this request is legitimate since it falls under MOS:ARTCON. --Omnipaedista (talk) 16:28, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Religious adherence by country, table highlighting[edit]

It appears that countries with more than 50% in column 3 are highlighted in light blue. Omnipaedista has edited to include Estonia, with only 13.66%, on the basis that the majority of its religious people are Orthodox. I feel the highlighting should match the figures shown. Including Estonia should require the addition of a column showing the percentage of religious people, in addition to the existing column showing the percentage of all people. Any comments, or should I change it back? Jaa101 (talk) 01:33, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted myself. The blue background needs to be explained better. --Omnipaedista (talk) 09:42, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fix requested[edit]

Good day, I did notice one issue in the religious adherence by country table - regarding Montenegro, it shows that 81% of the population are adherents, which isn't true. According to the Religion in Montenegro article, and the census of 2011, only 72.07% of the population are adherents. In the recent polls, that number fell even further, due to the rise of irreligion. Still, I'd request if it the 81.0 (which I'm not sure from what source it was received) were to be replaced with the more accurate 72.1 percentage. Thanks in advance!
