See also section
[edit]@Dirtlawyer1: I'm a fan of "see also" sections, something I battled over with @Jweiss11: years ago, but this one seems bloated even to me. Links to broad topics such as "Florida Gators", "History of the University of Florida", "List of Levin College of Law graduates", and "List of University of Florida people" (none of which even mentions or links to Jones) are, in my opinion, too far afield. You can do as you wish, as this is offered only as constructive criticism. Cbl62 (talk) 05:48, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
Brief explanation of "see also" links --
- Florida Gators -- this is an article about the sports program for which Jones was the athletic director
- Florida Gators football, 1920–29 -- key early decade of Florida football, and Jones was a high-profile team member
- History of the University of Florida -- Jones was a prominent contributor to the early history of UF as an athlete, athletic director and coach
- List of Levin College of Law graduates -- Jones was a graduate, now listed
- List of University of Florida faculty and administrators -- Jones now listed
I don't subscribe to the "must be linked theory" for inclusion. I think an article like "History of the University of Florida" is something of likely interest to a reader who is perusing another article about a university alumnus and early administrator like Jones, and that's a pretty good reason for inclusion. I'm only embarrassed that the "History of" article isn't in better shape. For university presidents, national championship coaches, and other high-profile pre-World War II administrators, I will usually include a "History of" link.
FYI, I whacked the "University of Florida Hall of Fame" link (it was redundant, and already linked via infobox and navbox), and replaced the "List of people" with "List of faculty, etc."
Constructive criticism is always appreciated, and often acted upon. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 07:12, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
Height/weight
[edit]Realized I haven't a clue of this for Jones (as a player), though for many others. Anybody know? Cake (talk) 03:00, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
