This page was held hostage by a wikipedia editor who requested $300 for publication

[edit]

I am Emilio Ferrara, the author of this article. The article was initially declined by a Wikipedia editor.

After some time, I was contacted on Linkedin by somebody who claimed to be a Wikipedia editor and that they would publish this page if I paid them $300.

I collected all evidence at this link [1]. Emilio Ferrara (talk) 21:46, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Emilio Ferrara, for documenting this case. At the same time, please be aware that writing autobiographical articles is strongly discouraged (see: Wikipedia:Autobiography). I am going to put in this talk page the {{Connected contributor}} template to signal the situation to other contributors. -- CristianCantoro (talk) 17:00, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for bringing this up to the attention of other editors. The original article was revised according to an editor's feedback to be in line with the community's policies on autobiography. I seek to receive and incorporate any feedback that will make this page more valuable. 207.151.52.55 (talk) 17:37, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@207.151.52.55, @Emilio Ferrara: I have reviewed the article as well and I don't find any blocking issues to moving the article to the main namespace. If anything, a fair amount of the article is focused on recent events, but I will open a separate discussion thread on this. Please, in general, refrain to edit your own article and refer to Wikipedia:Autobiography for guidance. It is ok to edit the article if you are reverting blatant vandalism, but in general if there are other issues you can use the Talk page. Also, please do remember to log in with your account. --CristianCantoro (talk) 11:15, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your support. Much appreciated! Emilio Ferrara (talk) 16:33, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Focus on recent events

[edit]

A fair amount of the article is focused on recent events, namely the Influence on US Senate investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 US Election and the Twitter vs Musk trial. The first seems more likely to stand the test of time as relevant information for this article, about the second I am less sure. However, I am signaling it here, so it can be reviewed in the future. --CristianCantoro (talk) 11:21, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
