Use of term activist or advocate

[edit]

I added the term "activist" back based on the citations used, please feel to discuss here if this is an issue. PigeonChickenFish (talk) 02:16, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@PigeonChickenFish: I removed it because I saw in 2023 Barker added "artist not activist" to her instagram profile, although it has since been removed. Some new press on Barker uses the term activist: https://www.dazeddigital.com/projects/article/57564/1/emily-barker-dazed-100-interview More do not: https://www.kcet.org/shows/artbound/clip/emily-barker-art-in-the-name-of-accessibility https://hyperallergic.com/796478/your-concise-los-angeles-art-guide-for-february-2023/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owL0PU1MHoQ
I originally removed it out of respect to the artist and not wanting to mislabel her, although the most recent press on her from Dazed calls her an activist so I'd say it is fine either way. My 2 cents. - Wil540 art (talk) 15:58, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
