Surname pronunciation, lack of IPA

[edit]

Have twice removed surname pronunciations offered, once with a dead link as a reference, second with none. The pronunciations given (both lee-high and leehigh) disregard the "ch" sounc in the player's name. Are there sources that indicate that the player has adopted this pronunciation of his name? - danijel - 15:53, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

/ˈlixaj/ - is that all right? Stephen MUFC (talk) 21:17, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
or /ˈliːhaɪ/ as an Anglicised pronunciation. Stephen MUFC (talk) 21:40, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that Lichaj is from Poland (originally). In Polish it is pronounced /ˈlixaj/ (or something similar) but I tried to add the pronunciation which Americans would use. Americans rarely use /x/ short /i/. I have, however, heard American people pronounce it /lɪˈkɑːj/, but have never heard Lichaj pronounce it himself. --User:Vû zavé

Listening to Match of the Day I've definitely heard /ˈliːhaɪ/ though. Using /j/ like that (/lɪˈkɑːj/) in English is just odd though. Also, I don't think Americans would say /ɑː/. Stephen MUFC (talk) 22:19, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Eric Lichaj is Polish, borther of Andrew Lichaj who currently coaches at Ajax FC Chicago. Eric also played for Ajax FC Chicago before he joined to Chicago Magic. Orphaned references in Eric Lichaj

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Eric Lichaj's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Soccerway":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 09:59, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
