[edit]Is Image 6 really by Erte? It's strikingly unlike his style--very unnatractive and almost cartoon-like. The figure's features are fat and distorted. What's up with this picture?
- It looks like a crude copy of the bottom left image on this page p.s. please sign your talk page posts Doc 02:04, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
...Images?
[edit]Did the thought police bonk the image(s) the first comment on here is referencing? This article needs images OF his artwork. --RThompson82 (talk) 07:49, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

The author used false information about the origin of Mr. Erté's family
[edit]Please correct the false information about the origin of the Tyrtov family. All the generic books of the Russian Empire refer to the Russian origin of the genus. The founder of the family of Gabriel Semenovich Tyrtov was Russian.
Origin and history of the Tyrtov family It comes from Gavriil Semenovich Tyrtov, who was an envoy to the Crimean Khan Safa Giray (1543), and was killed (1548) in a battle with the Tatars. His son Tikhon was the hundredth head in the Livonian campaign (1558). In the XVI and XVII centuries, several Tyrtovs were voivodes. The family was granted from the sovereigns for the service of the estates (1627).
