Odd
[edit]The so-called "Synopsis of Baring career" only refers to Baring shortly. It mostly refers to Douglas-Hume. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.148.100.41 (talk) 12:01, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Reason for departure from Kenya in 1959?
[edit]As Anon notes, in "Odd", not much is said about his career. Lawrence18uk (talk) 20:33, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
- Seven years is a pretty fair stint for a governor. The rebellion was pretty much over, and he had pushed through political, agricultural, and economic reforms against the wishes of many of the settlers. The ODNB article is much better than ours. Use of peerage.com source
[edit]webpage https://www.thepeerage.com/e238.htm claims to quote from the book:
Douglas-Home, Charles (1978). Evelyn Baring, The Last Proconsul. Collins`. ISBN 9780002164573.
which is also quoted by the main article. But the peerage.com reference is flagged as being inaccurate. Lawrence18uk (talk) 21:19, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
