Praise
[edit]Much as I sympathise with the protesters' cause, praising them for bringing the DLR to a halt is totally POV, and hacked off around 2,000+ local residents, none of whom wanted the Arms Fair, but all of whom had to get home by other means. Will have a think about how to reword this. WillE 18:56, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I concur. The whole paragraph is largely irrelevant to the description of the ExCeL article. I would reduce to something along the lines of "Has hosted arms conventions which attracted protesters". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.34.75.65 (talk) 18:02, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Completely irrelevant, so have removed it. TheIslander 18:53, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
photograph vs. illustration of centre
[edit]if centre is open, surely there is a photograph that can replace the illustration (at top of article).--71.183.238.134 (talk) 14:41, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
title of article
[edit]"ExCeL Exhibition Centre" is not name used throughout venue's official website at http://www.excel-london.co.uk/. rather it is presented as "ExCeL London" thus, title should reflect that.--71.183.238.134 (talk) 14:48, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- Changed. Of course the name now means "Exhibition Centre London London". MRSC (talk) 15:10, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
corporate responsibility
[edit]"ExCeL London sponsors a variety of initiatives that make social and economic contributions to the local community in Newham, where levels of social deprivation are high." seems POV. I wonder who wrote it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.103.145 (talk) 16:33, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
"Slated"?
[edit]"ExCeL London has been slated as the hosting venue for IPEX 2014".
Wouldn't it be better to say something like "ExCeL London received bad reviews after hosting IPEX 2014" or something like that (with references of course)? "Slated" seems rather an emotive word to use. Pippin (talk) 12:44, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- I think you've misunderstood, slated can also mean expected [1] as well as the derogatory meaning. Zarcadia (talk) 14:56, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, I'd not heard of that meaning before. My Oxford Minidictionary only has the meaning "criticize or rebuke severely". Maybe the other meaning is American-only. Pippin (talk) 23:55, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Coordinate error

The following coordinate fixes are needed for

- You haven't said what you think is wrong with the coordinates in the article, and they appear to be correct. If you still think that there is an error, you'll need to provide a clear explanation of what it is. Deor (talk) 23:19, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
