Farrakh Khan was born to a Bhatti Muslim Rajput family from Hasan Abdal in the Attock area of Punjab, British India in 1938.^{[citation needed]} His father Chaudhary Sardar Khan was an influential fuedal landlord^{[citation needed]} He was educated at Burn Hall School, Abottabad, from around 1948-1957.^{[citation needed]} He was selected for the Pakistan Army and enrolled at the Pakistan Military Academy.^{[citation needed]}
