Apart from excluding non Ford BDA engines what was the difference between Mondial and Altantic/Pacific? --Falcadore (talk) 03:11, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Formula Mondial differed from its predecessors in terms of being a “World” formula rather than a regional formula and thus being controlled by the FIA rather than by the various national motor sport bodies. Technically, there were differences with engine eligibility, minimum weight and tyre and wheel specifications as well as with various chassis, skirt and sidepod regulations intended to eliminate ground effects. Would it not be better to merge this with a better written Atlantic page (current Atlantic page does little to explain its origins) considering Atlantic both preceded and succeeded Mondial, and that cars and competitors essentially did not change from one to the other, by way of example, not sepearating Formula Brabham from Formula Holden? --Falcadore (talk) 02:26, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
