The it:wiki article uses these two images: [1] and [2]. Could they be transferred to Commons and used here? Martinevans123 (talk) 16:25, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

improve tag

[edit]

I've removed the improve tag for four reasons. One; the article has been highly improved in the last few days. Two; films serve as their own primary source, so credited rolls such as director do not need to be sourced elsewhere. Three; the awards and various other materials such as the Silver Ribbon (Nastro d'Argento), awarded by the Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani: for the 1963 Best Director for Salvatore Giuliano are already cited in the linked main article, and don't need separate citation unless the link itself is dubious. And four, and improvement needed should be tagged directly an explained at talk if necesssary, not just be left without explanation at the top of the page. μηδείς (talk) 02:37, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that. I guess your reason four would have been sufficient to remove it before anything else. I've obviously been a bit over-inclusive in my efforts to get the article onto the Main Page under ITN RD. No-one else seems too fussed. I must admit I thought we couldn't assume other wiki articles could be used as sources - perhaps I should have checked what was supported with WP:RS in each of the individual film articles. I'm happy for those superfluous refs for the awards to be removed. I failed to find English language sources for some of the facts, but I guess that's no surprise for an Italian person. Re: the 1987 award of Efebo d'Oro for Cronaca di una morte annunciata, which had that "redlink with no citation", here's a video of the award ceremony where it actually gets presented to him: [3] (from about 5:30 onwards). But again, it's in Italian, so maybe not good enough for English wiki?! Martinevans123 (talk) 19:38, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
