Fair use rationale for Image:Juetsumyifung.jpg[edit]

Image:Juetsumyifung.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Criticism[edit]

I tried improving the quality of the text but it still needs a revision of style according to Wikipedia's standards, besides referencing. Rsreston (talk) 13:44, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image issue[edit]

The fair use of image:Juetsumyifung.jpg in this article is questionable. Listed below is/are the reason(s) for this:
Significance: Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase, or its lack would significantly hinder, understanding the topic of the article. Full policy

Right now the image is just decoration for the publication list. The caption seems to indicate that the image could be used to illustrate an point within the article. If it does, it should be relocated to the point in the article. If not, it should be removed.

If the above concern(s) can be addressed in light of the relevant policies and/or guidelines, the image use can be retained. If not, the image needs to be removed from the article.

The issue with Juetsumyifung.jpg has been addressed.

Cantonese vs. Hanyu Pinyin[edit]

I don't see any particular reason to change everything into Hanyu Pinyin. The original version of this page does not use Hanyu Pinyin for names of characters and associations. It'd be too much of a hassle to change everything into Hanyu Pinyin, considering that Fung Wan has several articles in its category. Besides, this comic series originated in Hong Kong where Cantonese is a commonly spoken dialect that may be spoken more often than standard Mandarin Chinese. Please don't undo again as it'll escalate into an edit war. We can discuss here first and reach a general consensus before proceeding to make changes on the main article itself. 116.15.18.34 (talk) 16:00, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. Almost all articles on Fung Wan characters include a Hanyu Pinyin pronunciation of the names in the introduction. This already draws a clear distinction between Cantonese and Hanyu Pinyin. To 24.185.13.98: Please stop forcing the edits on the article itself. It'll become an edit war if you continue doing that. Lonelydarksky (talk) 08:05, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jien Chen[edit]

Is there any info on the character Jien Chen? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by VampireWraith (talkcontribs) 07:58, 1 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

He's a very unfairly-treated character. He dies in part 2 heroicly, redeeming himself in triumph, only to be "revived" in part 3 to play the role of a traitor again. The author is very unfair, must be crazy.

  • A few weeks ago I found out what you were talking about when I got some of the TPB Vols and a few issues. I really didn't see that coming. I mean he was a gentleman and a "True Successor" for the Hero Sword. Sword Saint, Wind, Bushi, Frost and even Conquer thought so. And lets not forget Nameless as well. Grand Chung and Wen Nu even thought he would be great to get the Ultimate Sword. Jien Chen does gets treated badly and for no good reason. The author's reason for him becoming a traitor 2 times made no sense.

  • Jian Chen is now missing after being defeated by Xiao Wu (he is now blind and lost Mou Ying Hung's hand). Probably he can't betray any people anymore.

  • He's blind......... it never ends for him. Writer Wing Shing Ma lets Cloud and Wind do whatever they want, but Cloud especially. Wing Shing Ma favorites Cloud. Cloud acts like a crazy asshole to people, yet some how Chu Chu liked him and he kills dozens of people even when those people are not evil… Cloud some how beats a god type of warrior like Nameless… and yet he gets away with it… all of it… but other characters like Jien Chen get treated like shit for reasons that make no sense whatsoever. Wing Shing Ma’s so called reasons for him becoming a traitor (2 times or more) was a complete failure on his writing. But not just with that character but also with the whole story itself. I mean even writers from DC and Marvel comics have come up with better reasons for characters becoming traitors than he has. After Storm Riders: Invading Sun #4… the writing went completely down hill. Wing Shing Ma writing as being good… has long since pasted. I would like to know from Wing Shing Ma why he seems to think that a character like Jien Chen should go from being a gentleman... to a betrayer so quickly and easily. It's either bad writing... or I'm just not getting it at all.

  • Not too long ago... the writer killed him off again... maybe for good this time... I don't think there has ever been a writer that I've hated more than Wing Shing Ma. Kim San was a nice good character, one of the best fighters (he should have been the best due to him being taught by Nameless since he was a kid) and gets treated like that......... and most fans buy that as good writing........ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.60.243.105 (talk) 01:24, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
