I don't understand, why this article should be deleted. Could you please help.

See WP:BAND. TallNapoleon (talk) 19:03, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The last explanation was very short so I'll try to expand it and explain. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and each article in it must be notable under WP:NOTABLE. The "litmus test" for notability is if the subject of the article has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. I'm unable to find numerous sources of coverage and assume that the person who tagged this article for deletion didn't as well.
That being said, I did find this. I'm not fluent in the language but from what I can tell, Gabriel Rivano won some sort of honor which could possibly qualify the subject as notable under WP:MUSIC point 8 if the award is major. I doubt that it is but the question must be raised. Also, I'm unsure if the source of the article is a reliable source under WP:RS. Either way, I believe that subject of this article may be notable and that it should go to AfD for further discussion. OlYellerTalktome 20:14, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, regardless of the source I gave, this claim, "His "Concierto para Bandoneón y Orquesta" (concert for bandoneon, guitar and orchestra) had its world premiere at the "Teatro Colón" in Buenos Aires in 1997, which was awarded with the 1st prize in the international competition organized by Secretaría de Cultura de la Nación Argentina." could prove notability under WP:MUSIC point 8. Regardless of my own feelings on its notability, I believe it needs to be discussed in AfD. OlYellerTalktome 20:18, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've declined the speedy deletion request as notability has been asserted, if anyone disagrees with me I suggest you take the article to AFD for a proper discussion. WereSpielChequers 09:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
