Name discrepancies[edit]

There are discrepancies regarding her original name. Presumably she was Gail Russell by the time of 1st film appearance, but her getting that name isn't explained. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1002:B11D:810E:19A7:C4BB:B696:A400 (talk) 23:58, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NOT the sister of musician George Russell[edit]

Although Gail Russell did have a brother named George, he is not the famed jazz musician. Gail Russell's parents lived in Chicago, Illinois throughout the early 1920s, where her father was an insurance agent. Her older brother George Jr. was born in February, 1919. The musician George Russell, however, was born in 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the adopted son of a railway worker. This information all comes from the 1920 census and from musician George Russell's personal homepage. Monkeyzpop (talk) 22:42, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Remarriage?[edit]

  • No, she did not remarry. Her headstone at Valhalla Memorial Park as pictured by findagrave.com relates her name as "Gail Russell Moseley." According to the Internet Movie Data Base, Moseley was Guy Madison's original surname which was changed to Madison after he was cast in his first film. T.E. Talent[edit]

Somebody with the proper expertise should write something on Gail's talent, which was considerable. She was very good in "Calcutta" and she did a fine job in one of the best westerns ever filmed, "Seven Men From Now." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.44.233.118 (talk) 19:16, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
