Breasts?
[edit]is it really necessarily to mention the breast physics? I wasn't under the impression it was a huge issue among gamers.
But among programmers, it is very astonishing.You see, if a game doesn't have physics it will be nonsense because the breast of a female character in that specific game won't jiggle making it a non-exiting game.
Another sense
[edit]The phrase "game physics" has another sense in referring to liberties of physics taken to allow a better game design. For example, almost all platform games allow the player to change direction in midair. This is of course impossible in real life, at least in the fashion it is seen in games. In other words, it's the equivalent of the term cartoon physics, though not the same thing (different laws apply to game physics than cartoon physics; true cartoon physics is uncommon in games). Definition
[edit]Computer animation physics or game physics involves the introduction of the laws of physics into a simulation or game engine, particularly in 3D computer graphics, for the purpose of making the effects appear more realistic to the observer.
This doesn't seem an accurate definition (if you can even call it a definition). It reads to the effect that "game physics" means the endeavour to reproduce the physics of the real world with the aim of achieving realism. I disagree with this: surely game physics are the laws of motion that apply within the world of a particular game, regardless of how true to the real world (or not) they are. And why in 3D computer graphics in particular? Surely it applies equally to 2D and 3D game worlds, and moreover the graphics and the physics modelling are entirely separate from each other.
OK, so later in that paragraph:
Additionally, games may intentionally deviate from actual physics for gameplay purposes
Does this mean additionally to implementing game physics, or as an aspect of game physics that is additional to aiming to achieve realism?
