Gazi Yasargil → Gazi Yaşargil – His name is not "Gazi Yasargil" It's a different name, different sound and a different meaning. It should be "Gazi Yaşargil" Dr.tolga (talk) 00:13, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Support not knowing Turkish am not even going to try and check sources, but tr.wikipedia is clear that no name "Yasargil" exists. And here on en.wp we retain accents of Latin-alphabet European names in modern bios. In ictu oculi (talk) 03:12, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Support, the diacritic gives important pronunciation information. From prior reading of the Turkish alphabet page, even a non-speaker of Turkish like myself can know the difference in pronunciation between plain s and s-cedilla. Titles of encyclopedia entries, on paper or online, generally make a point of carefully including such information, as opposed to some other sources that merely mention a name in passing. — P.T. - Support. Yaşargil is a Turkish surname. - Darwinek (talk) 14:21, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
