The Cat
[edit]No mention of "The Cat" yet? One point for expansion. -- Infrogmation 02:19, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Academy Award
[edit]- The article reads that Mr. Deitch won an Academy Award. I believe it should say that he directed a film that won an Academy Award. Others agree? DutchTreat (talk) 18:20, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
1960? or 1964?
[edit]It's not usual to get a contradiction in such close juxtaposition as we see in this article:
- Deitch married his present wife Zdenka in 1964 Deitch married his wife Zdenka in 1960.
Well, which is it? Does anyone know? (Or perhaps we should split the difference and set his nuptials at 1962...) Herostratus (talk) 04:14, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Weston Woods!
[edit]Just a request - more about the Weston Woods videos, please! So wonderful. Mostly what I know him for. --Bronx72 (talk) 10:10, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Marriages and BLP vios
[edit]Veteran editors understand that we cannot make personal-life claims about living people, including claims about marriage, with reliable-source citation. WP:BLP is a stringent policy. --Tenebrae (talk) 04:18, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Deitch's role under the communist regime
[edit]http://www.radio.cz/en/section/one-on-one/gene-deitch-thirty-fascinating-years-in-communist-prague and http://www.radio.cz/en/section/one-on-one/gene-deitch-thirty-fascinating-years-in-communist-prague-part-2 "fascinating" is that story, and it sure needs some official evaluation from official sides what exactly privileged Deitch's role was as an American citizen living in the communist CSSR behind the Iron Curtain while Czechs were fleeing the country in droves. http://www.nytimes.com/1998/08/09/movies/made-in-prague-bound-for-the-us.html He profited from the regime. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:8C:4C3D:4F00:E98B:D441:5D8F:107C (talk) 01:51, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
Deitch and Czecho-Slovakian Secret Service
[edit]More than meets the eye https://stbezo.info/d9.htm
- Page is gone, and one can only speculate about the reasons. A little leftover of the self-description: "RESUME Computer database EZO (Record of Persons of Interest) The article describes the development and succesive launching of the information system EZO (Record of Persons of Interest). The objective of the ŠtB was to develop a hierarchically ordered computerized system which would record all persons who were - or previously had been - of interest to the ŠtB and also persons who the apparatus of the Interlinked System for Recognizing Enemies (SSEP) labeled „persons of exceptionally dangerous category“ (OZNK) and to indicate records loaded into the system by the Czechoslovak side.
The article also provides basic statistics and comparisons with the list of victims of communism as provided in the publication The Crimes of Communism in Slovakia 1948 – 1989." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:c0:df02:1b00:2dc1:2c70:7503:fc12 (talk) 09:51, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
