Slave owner?
[edit]The article mentions that he was in favor of “states rights” and “supported slavery” but does not mention that he himself was a slaveholder. And yet at the bottom he is in the list of “American slave owners”. I’ll see if I can dig up some references on this.
Apparently he was “one of the richest men in Georgia” and “owned more that 400 slaves”. [1]
