Check out my work

[edit]

Dr Aaij, Ed, Godsy, I present you my second article for yall to look at and review. --Aporter90 (talk) 01:12, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Aporter90: a few questions:
  • Is Jamacia right? It's in Queens, which isn't very close to Vermont, even though you say that they're neighboring. :-)
  • "... and also became a member of the committee." Which committee?
  • Have anything more on capturing those troops? 116 people surrendered to one person (Hooker)? Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 04:22, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ed, honestly I have no idea about the towns...I guess I should reword that....see this is why you have people look over your work. Good questions! I finally found a newspaper late last night that had his obituary in it so I'll take a look at it and work on this some more. :) --Aporter90 (talk) 16:10, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This is why we pay him the big bucks. If you want to see the kind of thing that gets him going, look at this featured article. I did some copyedits on one of those articles of his one time. It was incredibly boring but hey, to each his own. Dr Aaij (talk) 04:53, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Dr Aaij, hey I love history and think it is facinating!!! I did get permission from the people who took pictures of Col. Hookers tombstone so at least one of my articles will have a picture lol. There is a picture in an old journal thing of Col. Hooker how do I go about seeing if I can use that too? --Aporter90 (talk) 23:57, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Aporter90: When was the journal published? Before 1923? If so, you can use it! The good doctor is wrong, by the way. It's this article, which will eventually be the main topic of my master's thesis. ;-) Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 23:17, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ed, Yes, in fact it was published in 1902. --Aporter90 (talk) 01:05, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Aporter90: Perfect, then in the uploading process either select the pre-1923 option or tag it with {{PD-US}}. :-) Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 05:20, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ed, Thank you!!! --Aporter90 (talk) 15:38, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ed,Godsy, this is finally in main space!!! YAY me!!! Thank yall for all your help! :) --Aporter90 (talk) 15:52, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations! :-) Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 04:39, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know?!

[edit]

Did you know that one man captured an entire Confederate regiment, consisting of 116 men and their colonel, all by hisself. --Aporter90 (talk) 17:42, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Aaij, how about this? --Aporter90 (talk) 17:42, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
