Mariah Carey featuring Jermaine Dupri singles chronology

[edit]

Is there a way to get rid of the Mariah Carey featuring Jermaine Dupri singles chronology? It doesn't make sense, neither Shake It Off or Don't Forget About Us featured Jermaine Dupri, as his singles chronology shows. I have tried, but failed (as you can see in the history, so if someone could, it would be much appreciated.

You were on the right track. I fixed it -- getcrunkjuicecontribs 20:16, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:GYN.jpg

[edit]

Image:GYN.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note - Thanks for reviewing Calvin. A quick comment so you know ahead of time. I know the song was performed live on Top of the Pops, The Paul O'Grady Show and a UK concert of some sort, but I was unable to find references for any of these. For this reason a 'Live performances' section was not added.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 10:37, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's so annoying we can't use youtube videos for references lol. Calvin 999 12:54, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I know lol. I mean, a performance is a performance. All of them were lipped (badly lol) anyway.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 14:02, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah they were lip-synced badly. However, at the very start of the performance on Paul O'Grady, whilst Mariah is behind those doors and just as the track staartes playing, she does hit two whistle notes, which were live. Little fact lol.

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
    B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
    C. It contains no original research:
    D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
  4. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
  5. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
  6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?

    B. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
  • Info box
  1. No issues.
  • Lead info
  1. "was released as the third international single from Carey's tenth studio album, The Emancipation of Mimi (2005)." → You might want to say along with Shake It Off as the A-side. I know you say this in the second paragraph, but I feel like it should be in the first.
    • This is the only one I have an issue with. While I agree its important to mention it in the beginning, it also goes hand in hand where I placed it, due to the fact that it was only in the UK and Ireland. See my point?--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 15:07, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  2. I don't think you need to say "Thursday and Friday". The wording of the days, then the month, then the dates, then the year is a bit of a mouthful.
  • Background
  1. No issues.
  • Writing and recording
  1. No issues.
  • Composition
  1. ""Get Your Number" is a mid-tempo song lasting three minutes and fifteen seconds, while drawing influence from pop and R&B music genres." → Is this apart of ref 9 in the next sentence?
  2. Musicnotes here says it is 126 bpm?
  3. "B3 to the high-note of A5" → *Takes a deep breath* haha.
  • Reception - Critical reaction
  1. "however, with criticism aimed at some of its lyrics, and Dupri's verses." → Hmm, re-word, doesn't flow.
  • Reception - Commercial performance
  1. "The Emancipation if Mimi" doesn't need to be wiki-linked again, and you don't need to add the date again either, like how you haven't in the Writing and recording section.
  2. "Shake it Off" doesn't need to be wiki-linked again either, it has been mentioned multiple times before without it.
  • Music video
  1. "Shake it Off" doesn't need to be wiki-linked again.
You haven't done it but I'll let it go.
  • Formats and track listings
  1. No issues.
  • Credits and personnel
  1. No issues.
  • Charts
  1. No issues.
  • References
  1. No issues.
